PDO THREADS

PDO THREADS

PDO Threads are non-anchoring threads that stimulate collage to restore volume, strengthen the skin and improve elasticity. PDO Threads are not designed to give a tight lift anchoring or barbed threads do rather they activate collagen to encourage changes in the skin that produce results gradually. Over time, our bodies produce less and less collagen resulting in a loss of skin thickness and volume. PDO Threads work to address this by re-introducing collagen production, thickening, re-building and re-volumising the skin for a more youthful appearance, healthy-looking skin and fewer lines.

After topical numbing (numbing cream applied to the skin), tiny micro-needles are used to insert multiple threads just under the skin in a mesh like-pattern for maximum effect.  10-50 PDO Threads are typically used per treatment area, depending on the laxity of your skin and desired outcome. Areas that have achieved great results with this treatment include neck, forehead, jawline, cheeks, marionette lines, lines around the mouth and chine as well as certain body areas such as stomach.

 FAQS

ARE PDO THREADS SAFE?

PDO threads are made from the same material as normal sutures and are very safe. They are smooth and non-barbed. Once the threads are in place they can provide improvement of fine lines and wrinkles by gradually stimulating your own natural collagen production.

HOW DO PDO THREADS WORK?

A PDO thread lift works differently to fillers. They are not an instant result and they don’t “fill” the skin to lift it. Instead, they are used to and thicken your skin providing a natural much-rejuvenated appearance.

HOW IS THE THREAD TREATMENT PERFORMED?

After topical numbing (numbing cream applied to the skin), tiny micro-needles are used to insert multiple threads just under the skin in a mesh like-pattern for maximum effect. 10-50 threads are typically used per treatment area, depending on the laxity of your skin and desired outcome. Areas that have achieved great results with this treatment include neck, forehead, jawline, marionette lines and cheeks. Treatment time 30-60 mins.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

Treatment time 30-60 mins.

WILL I BRUISE?

Yes, you may bruise but this will resolve itself in a few days. To minimise bruising ensure you read this article before you treatment (link to https://www.ultimateskinandbody.com.au/bruising-swelling-with-injectable-treatments/)

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE THE RESULTS?

Usually within 6 weeks and ongoing for the next 2-12 months as new collagen is produced, creating long-term rejuvenation.

PRE & POST

POST TREATMENT

  • No facial treatments or rubbing of the treated area for 24 hours
